Culture department

There is a lot to do in Speyer and the surrounding area. For this reason, the cultural department organizes city tours for the students, a reception at the mayor's with wine and pretzels (not only traditional, but also legendary), excursions in the surrounding area (from wine tavern to ruined castle) but also subject-related excursions, for example to the Federal Court of Justice, to the Federal Constitutional Court or even to the European Court of Human Rights.

Even on campus there is no shortage of cultural activities: At the beginning of each semester, the cultural department initiates diverse leisure groups such as choir, band, theater or debating club; brings students with equal interests in contact and arranges the corresponding rooms. The clubs usually meet weekly; Band, choir and theater group may organize a joint performance towards the end of the semester.

Of course, there are also seasonal events: In the summer semester Viking Chess (KUBB) lures us to the meadows in the area or various wine festivals in the taverns of the area. In the winter semester, excursions to the Christmas markets in nearby cities are worthwhile. The department also invites to the cookie bakery.

The description is not comprehensive and quite variable, because the program is mainly based on the interests of the audience. In this sense, the department is happy about suggestions and wishes from by the students.
