Alumni Department

The alumni department is responsible for alumni work and thus acts as a focus for contacts and the exchange of information and experience. The objectives of this work are to bring the former students of the university together with the current students and to promote cooperation between the university and its former "protégés".

There are two main focuses:

Up to two lectures are organized during the semester, during which alumni report on their experiences, their career and their employer to the university. Nromally, each lecture will initially be accompanied by a specialist introductory speech. Especially here it is important to consider different disciplines, as the Hörerschaft is very interdisciplinary.

An alumni lecture evening usually begins with a lecture by the alumnus / alumna and ends later with a cozy glass of wine and pretzels ("Speyerer Gedeck"). All students and all interested parties are cordially invited to participate in these evenings.

In addition, the alumni department maintains an intensive exchange with the administration of the university in order to promote the alumni work beyond the audience. These include, for example, the creation and maintenance of an alumni database, the organization of alumni meetings and the information of the alumni, in order to keep them up-to-date on what is happening at the university.

In short, the department wants to bring alumni closer to the university and hopes to learn from their experiences.

Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to refer you to the university's alumni directory. For reasons of data protection law, however, it is not automatically recorded there but must first agree to the recording of its data. Since the success of an alumni network always depends on the number of members, we would ask that all alumni register in the alumni directory.
