The Hörerschaft
The Hörerschaft is the self-government supported by the students at the University of Speyer. It is responsible for the interests of the students and is primarily responsible for the infrastructure outside the curriculum. Its members (Hörersprecher, department heads) are elected on the first day of the semester from the enrolled students in the plenary session of the general assembly following the inaugural meeting by the present-students.
The Hörerschaft organizes and finances many extra-curricular events during the semester. Within the first days usually a choir, a band and many sports groups are formed. During the semester, day trips to institutions in and outside of Germany are organized. There are also parties and wine tastings. Each semester, there is a dedicated group with fun organizing and designing.
The active participation in the Hörerschaft is worthwhile: From the first day you have contact with interesting and nice people. There is a modern office in the dorm and you are guaranteed to have some great experiences. An overview of all departments of the Hörerschaft can be found under the heading Referate. For questions, suggestions or criticism, we are always available, the contact details are available at each department or you can just come directly to our office (Groundlevel in the guesthouse Freiherr-vom-Stein).
